PetConnect is a platform that aims to alleviate the pressure on shelters and rescues by matching families with their ideal pet. Our approach to achieving this goal involves utilizing pet-matching algorithms that help pair pets with their perfect families. Additionally, we have incorporated a pet-focused social media page that offers a fun and safe space for our users.

We recognize that social media can often be a breeding ground for negativity and toxicity. Therefore, we have created a platform that serves as a refuge from all the negativity. Our social media page allows for direct messaging as the sole means of communication. Users can interact with other posts by simply liking them, adding pet to their favorites, share, or scrolling past them.

In an effort to expand our reach, we have opened our social media platform to zoos and wildlife reserves. Our users can now follow their favorite animals and enjoy watching them in their natural habitat. Additionally, we offer monthly contests in three categories: Dogs, Cats, and Funny Pet Videos. Users can vote for their favorites by purchasing treats that they can use to vote. Treats are available for as little as $1 and can be purchased in bulk at a discounted rate. The winners of the contest will receive gift cards ranging from $25 and up, depending on the level of participation.

In line with our mission to help save pets, we have made it easier for rescues to find pets that are scheduled to be euthanized by searching for them exclusively. The euthanasia list is the sole responsibility of shelters to enter those pets and the dates. If there is no date, then they can enter N/A.

We have created a feature called PetAlert, which is similar to an Amber Alert but for pets. This feature is designed to help pet owners find their missing pets quickly and efficiently. If a pet goes missing, all the user needs to do is go to their pet's profile and press the "Pet Alert" button. This feature will alert every user within a one-mile radius that their pet is missing. We hope that this feature will help reunite lost pets with their owners without the need for animal control or shelters.

Our pet matching feature is accessible to all users, including shelters, rescues, and individuals. We encourage users to create a profile that describes their home environment to ensure that we can match them with the perfect pet. For instance, families with children would prefer pets that are good with children, and those with other pets would want pets that get along with other animals. Shelters, rescues, and individuals can create profiles for their pets and specify whether they are available for adoption, sale, or rehoming. Users can search for pets based on different criteria such as type, breed, gender, size, location, and distance.

Our social media page is a space where users, shelters, rescues, zoos, and wildlife reserves can post pictures of their animals, and others can follow them. This platform is similar to Facebook but with no comments, just likes, favorites, share, or scrolling past.

We have also established a marketplace where users can purchase treats (credits) and search for pet services like veterinarians, pet stores, shelters, groomers, and more. Vendors will be shown by location, and they will need to purchase ad space per county. We only allow up to four vendors per county, and they will be graded based on feedback. Vendors who fail to meet our standards will be refunded and released.
